MEETING WITH BEYONCÉ

Beyoncé at the NRJ Radio Awards in Stockholm, Sweden

I was just an inch from talking to the queen of music, Beyoncé Knowles member of Destiny's Child on January 15th 2004, when my BP* friend BJ spoke to her on the telephone telling her about me and my TV project. But he didn't let me talk to her because of a misunderstanding and just one week after the call on January 25th 2004 it turned out that she was performing in Stockholm, Sweden at the NRJ Radio Awards and it was televised. I really hated when that happened to me. It could have been my really big chance to talk to her backstage. At that point I thought I was going to talk to her at the end of the year, but Beyoncé is obviously a curious person because she came online on BP* on February 11th 2004 and this time she wanted to talk business with me, or at least I thought she wanted to, however it was most unexpected.

BJ the singer.

After that I tried to e-mail her every single day without any success. My English was quite bad at the time and it would probably have been impossible to make a phone call to Beyoncé's manager myself. I wouldn't have been able to make myself understood. I therefore tried to find someone else who could do it for me. I was eventually promised by an awfully rude guy in an American band called Taliban South that he would speak to Beyoncé's father and manager Mathew Knowles about the remake while they personally tried to sign on to his management. As you all can imagine he betrayed me. I'm not sure what happened, he didn't at least talk to her father about my project. Fortunately Beyoncé came online on July 2nd 2004 and sent me a nice little reply telling me she wanted to know more about the story and that we should work together. I also found out that BJ had obviously never spoken to her and told a lie because he was mad at me. It then took her some time to write me back again. When she did she told me she's not interested because she's going to retire soon, I was afraid she was going to spoil the offer for some time. Luckily she did agree to work with me and the remake of AS&J. She gave me a clear yes.

She said: - I want to do it!
